Hi Folks
I have just signed up, MAC-184 (Stu)
I am the online events Co-ordinator for Margarita air and I generally try to schedule a special or unusual on line event once a month over on the Margarita Air MACNET server.
These usually take place on Sundays at approx 21:00GMT thats 16:00 East coast USA
I am based on the South coast of the UK about 15 miles West of Shoreham airfield (as superbly shown in Just flights "flying club" fs add on)
I will post future events on this forum too, you are all welcome to join us.
So watch this space !

Well it's official, we're going to need a bigger card table for those staff meetings <L> Welcome Stu (and everyone else at Margarita.) I haven't done a whole lot of flying in the tropics but I do know one reg for the post-flight procedure: "You put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up." I think that's FAR 201.11.6. Then 201.12 governs the addition of either Rum or Tequila...

We have had to have modified pre-flight checklists over at the Margarita Air club to allow for the Carribean way of doing things ! Here's the first part of the Baron 58's Pre-Start ChecklistVisit Bar ...Drink two Banana Daquires
stagger to aircraft and fall in... then
Parking Brakes SET Throttle IDLE Avionics Master Switch OFF Landing Gear Lever CHECK DOWN Throttle Quadrant Display ON Cowl Flaps OPEN Avionics Frequ. Display ON ..pause to take out hip flask Containing Martinque RumTake two shots.... re-focus eyes... thenFlaps UP Propeller HIGH RPM Fuel Selectors ON Fuel Flow / Mixture CUTOFF Battery Switch ON Fuel Quantity CHECK Flight controls CHECK Drinks cabinet CHECK ! Ice Bucket CHECK !!Avionics Master Switch ON Check Weather (ATIS, Flight Services) Anti-ice Switches ON Request Clearance Transponder SET Beacon ON Thirsty work this so .. Down Two Margarita's prior too....Startup Checklist
Engine and Propeller Area CLEAR Throttle FULL Fuel Flow / Mixture FULL RICH Fuel Boost Pumps HI until fuel flow peaks, then OFF Throttle IDLE, cracked Cocktail mixer SHAKEN Right Magneto and Engine Start Switch START (repeatedly until engine starts) Right Oil Pressure CHECK 10psi Right Alternator ON Right Alternator Annunciator EXTINGUISHED Repeat for left engine Loadmeter+Voltmeter CHECK for CHARGE Pour Cocktail and toast successfull engine start .. Hic! Say Margarita Air Prayer whilst mixing taxi cocktail see.. Now where are we going again ? ;D
